Vision and Ethos

Elton Church of England Primary School provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where high standards are achieved through the aspirational expectations of the whole school community.

Our vision for every child is that their primary school education will spark a life-long love of learning and curiosity, and that they will acquire the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.  The world will always need people who can communicate, who can empathise, who are polite, who can solve problems and persevere when the answers are hard to find...

The spiritual, social, mental and physical development of every child, is therefore as important to us as academic progress, and we endeavour to make an “Elton child” creative, resilient, adaptable and confident by the time they move to the next stage of their education.

Our curriculum is designed to excite and impassion children , giving them access to a broad range of opportunities through real-life experiences and a timetable of visits and visitors.  It is planned to prioritise shared values through each term's "Big Questions", so that links can be made between different groups of people; through their history, the places they live, their culture and their religion.    It is through understanding others that we learn most about ourselves:

Why don't you take a look at our Values and Curriculum pages to explore how they are embedded throughout daily life at Elton...?
