Welcome to the website of “The Elton Church of England Primary School of the Foundation of Frances and Jane Proby” to give our school its full title!  We hope that your visit will give you a snapshot of life at Cambridgeshire’s best-kept secret…

We are all proud to be part of everything this school has to offer.  A child here is valued for their individuality, and for the different qualities they bring to those around them.  It is our role to provide ambition and challenge across the breadth of our rich curriculum to enable every child to become the very best they can be, nurturing their talents and celebrating their achievements.

In our ever-changing world, we are only too aware that the curriculum we are asked to provide now, may be less relevant by the time a primary-school aged child reaches adulthood. However, there are many personal qualities and attitudes towards learning that will always stand a child in good stead - communication, empathy, manners, perseverance, independence, creativity...  Our aim is therefore to educate the whole child, and to ensure that an “Elton child” is resilient and adaptable; confident in their own abilities, and appreciative of the abilities in others.  An Elton child will be curious and interested in learning more, encouraged to ask questions and to work out the answers independently.  They will be nurtured and valued, but at the same time exposed to competition.  They will learn what it is like to win and to lose, and will do this well with humility and dignity.  Throughout their time with us, they will be an ambassador of our school values and a force for positive change in the school and wider community.

If, after browsing our website, you would like to find out more about life at our very popular village school, then please do not hesitate to contact the office and arrange a visit.  We look forward to extending you and your family our warmest welcome.

With very best wishes,

Claire Arnold
